Monday 21st October - walk *** – Rushmere Common near Ipswich – cloudy.

With my Dad back to Ipswich hospital after a couple of days at Addenbrooks in Cambridge we we set to visit him which left me free to do my exercises, not in the garden today as cloudy but no rain, Mag still managed to do some pruning before I packed a picnic and we headed off to Rushmere around 12.30. We parked near the start of the footpath to the common and set off looking for a bench for lunch, it was a lovely leafy walk to start when we got a message from my sister saying Dad had had a set back and was not up for visitors:( So we just did a long circuit of the common, just us enjoying the peace and quiet with a few friendly dog walkers and loads of golfers! We saw a few noisy squirrels and a few jays, we could not find a bench so sat on a concrete block to enjoy our egg sandwiches! Then back to the van and home via Felixstowe Ferry just in time to catch the forecast high tide which was pretty identical as last Saturdays. Once again I got wet feet paddling to get a few pics and was lucky enough to get one on ITV’s About Anglia which included Mags back once again! There was a van by the lovely Air b and b boat house where the tenders are stored at the bottom of the boatyard. We spoke to a lovely young lady who said they are filming places of interest in Suffolk, fingers crossed the weather is better for them tomorrow! Then home for a cuppa and surprisingly it cleared enough for another brief but nice sunset!
